Dr. Michael Torrence is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society. Dr. Torrence founded Advocare Children's Medical Associates in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, in 1977, and has continued to serve the community with pediatric health care for over four decades.
Dr. Torrence graduated from the University of Missouri. After earning his doctorate of medicine degree from the University of Kansas, he completed a three-year pediatric residency training program at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He was affiliated with Crozer-Chester Medical Center from 1977 till 2018 where he was chairman of the Pediatric Peer Review Committee. He is currently an active staff physician at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Dr. Torrence is very involved in teaching medical students and pediatric residents, and provides preceptor training to physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Professionally, Dr. Torrence is interested in developmental pediatrics, ADHD, infectious diseases, and nutrition education.
He has three children, all young adults.He enjoys spending time with his five grandchildren Everett, Langston, Tennyson, Brooks, and Cole. Dr. Torrence is also active in the Tennis for Autistic Children Foundation.
